Frequently asked questions
What is the Drift Score?
How far your iPhone drifted from where it started, in degrees. It is the 95th percentile of the movement during the round, so one tiny spike cannot ruin it. Lower is better.
How does a round start?
Hold the phone the way you want to hold it. The round locks your starting position by itself once you are still, counts down from 3, and measures from zero. You never have to tap at the moment you need to be still.
What do the grades mean?
UNREAL, LASER, ROCK SOLID, STEADY, DECENT, SHAKY and CHAOS are fixed bands of Drift Score, from best to worst. They are game labels, not comparisons with other people.
Why is my score different on another iPhone?
Phones have different motion sensors. Compare your scores on the same iPhone.
Why was my round cancelled?
A round is cancelled, and nothing is saved, if you leave the app, if the phone falls, or if the motion sensors stop sending data.
How does the Daily work?
Everyone gets the same challenge on the same day, with one official attempt. The attempt is used as soon as measuring begins, so leaving the app or dropping the phone after that still uses it. Deleting your results does not give you a new attempt. Use Practice First for a normal Classic round that does not count.
What are eyes-free poses?
On Your Head, On Your Stomach and Eyes Closed are played without looking at the screen, so they need sound or haptics. Their sound plays even in silent mode.
Is it safe?
Some poses can end with a dropped phone or a wobble. Play over something soft, give yourself room, and stop if anything feels uncomfortable. Drop detection only cancels the round; it cannot stop a fall.
Is this a medical test?
No. Don't Move is a game. Drift Score is not a medical or scientific measurement.
Do you collect my data?
We don't: there is no account and no analytics, and your results stay on your iPhone. The game is free and shows a full-screen ad from Google AdMob between some rounds (never during one, and not in your first three rounds of the day). Google receives some device information to show those ads; you choose whether ads may be personalised in Settings → Privacy Choices and in Apple's tracking prompt. The Privacy Policy has the details.
How often are there ads?
Your first three rounds each day have no ad. After that, at most one before every third round you play on your own, at least two minutes apart, and one when a Pass & Play game starts, never between turns.
How do I start over?
Settings → Delete All Results removes your history and bests.
Does it support accessibility settings?
The game supports VoiceOver labels, larger text, Reduce Motion and a Reduce Visual Effects setting, and eyes-free poses use sound and haptics. Settings also has a voice countdown, a spoken result, a drift sound and a longer countdown.
What do the vibrations mean?
- One tap per number: the countdown. The last one, at 1, is stronger.
- A sharp double tap: measuring has started. Hold still.
- Nothing while measuring: a vibration would move the phone, so the round itself is silent to the touch.
- A soft "success" buzz: the round is over, or in a pose, you are in position.
- A success buzz and two taps: a new personal best.
- An error buzz: Sudden Death caught you moving.
- One firm tap on the result: the grade landing.
